STEEL PLANTS PROCESS

Iron scrap ; % 90 of which comes from abroad, is used as the basic raw material. The scrap, that comes to the pier at Nemrut bay by ships, is transported to our scrap yard by our trucks and our stocked here. The scrap, which is loaded to the Sweden ASEA Made 72 MVA powered electric arc furnace that has the capacity of 70 tons/hour by overhead crane charged, is becoming liquid by melting them with the high temperature caused by the change of the 34.500 volts of high voltage; ınto an E.A.F at the end of the electrode.

Giving pure oxygen and powder carbon into the furnace during the melting process, has accelerated the process. Liquid steel, which is obtained from the melt-shop, is taken to the ladles and then to the ladle furnace which is one of the most important process of modern steel production and the steel rafination process is completed after the alloy element is added here for the required production standards for appropriate steel.

Billets, which are more than 700°C at their cooled condition are cooled packed and labeled at the bed and are sent to the stockyard. The packed and prepared billets are stowed appropriately in the stock stow area and are held ready for the dispatch of the port.
