Mr. Halis ÇEBİ who is the Chairman of the members of board made his first step at steel-iron sector by setting up a rolling mill plant at Karabuk in 1964. Mr. Halis ÇEBİ, whose characteristics is enterprising, established his modern and high quality rolling-mill section in Gebze in 1979 in order to increase his share in the market. Our company, which follows up and applies today's technological developments and which continues to work in cooperation with Turkey's main rolling-mill plants in Karabuk and Gebze, decided to build an iron steel integrated plant in Izmir Aliaga in 1986 in order to supply for it's own semi product billet needs and to make an important dash in the sector. Having been built with Sweden technology, the plant started steel billet production in 1989.

In addition to the melt shop in Aliağa, bought from France and modernized with ABB technology, the rolling mill plant started production in accordance with the melt shop in a way both economically and with high productivity rate in 1994

Besides these, the total number of debars Cebitaş has produced has become more than 600.000 tons and the number of imports and exports has dramatically increased. With these figures, Çebitaş has managed to enter to the list of hundred big companies in Turkey.

ÇEBİTAŞ has export markets on all continents starting with fareast and following with USA, Europe and Africa. Çebitas which has an important part in the world iron and steel market has strengthened it's quality with international Standard Organization (ISO 9001:2000) as well as with TSE Standards (Institute of Turkish Standards).
